Launched at the end of 2001, the Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 3.6 Cabriolet marked the arrival of Phase 2, addressing aesthetic criticisms with redesigned headlights from the Turbo and a stiffened chassis. It introduced the new 3.6-liter Flat-6 engine, which increased power to 320 hp and adopted the VarioCam Plus variable valve timing system for greater flexibility.
This model is distinguished by its electric soft top, now equipped with a heated glass rear window, replacing the fragile plastic of previous versions.
This example was delivered new to the Porsche dealership in Kassel, Germany. The car arrived in France in 2008. The current owner purchased it in June 2023.
This 996 is in good overall condition.
The bodywork is in good condition and free of corrosion. The alignment and adjustments are good. The black paintwork looks great. There are some minor imperfections around the bodywork.
The rims show signs of rubbing. The headlight lenses are in good condition. The black electric soft top is functional. This model has a hard top in the same color as the bodywork.
Inside, the black leather seats and red seat belts, and the leather dashboard are flawless. The black leather steering wheel is very well preserved. The dashboard instruments are functional. This car is equipped with PCCM Plus.
The 3.6 flat-6 starts smoothly and revs well. The engine was overhauled during restoration. The clutch is in very good condition. The 6-speed manual transmission is precise. The handling is very good.
