2003 Porsche 911 Targa
With the introduction of the Mark II Porsche 996, or the Porsche 996.2, a desirable Targa model came available. Equipped with the facelift head- and taillights and the upgraded engine from 3.4 liter to 3.6 liter, now developing 320 horsepower (where it was 300 horsepower in the first generation). Between 1997 and 2006 approximately 175.000 Porsches 911 of the 996 generation have been produced and sold, it’s believed only 5.125 examples were delivered as Targa model. The Porsche 996 was a huge success for Porsche. To find an original, low mileage, factory paint example today is very difficult. The Porsche 996 Targa we have available is a real unicorn. Delivered to Porsche Zentrum Altötting in Altötting on May 20, 2003. It would remain with the dealership until it was delivered to the first owner, a Mr. Andre Raymond Whittaker of Zangberg on August 28, 2003. In 2016 the car would be registered in the name of his wife. So we see this car as a first owner car. The car has extremely low mileage and is very well documented. An interesting history file, including German registration documents, invoices and TUV documents are presented as are the original books of the car.
