The first 911 Turbo was presented at the 1974 Paris Motor Show. From then on, direct fuel injection improved the engine’s power, torque and responsiveness, while reducing fuel consumption. The Porsche 997 Turbo facelift is introduced to the public in 2009, and benefits from the optional PDK gearbox, which reduces gearshift times and improves efficiency, thanks to a 7th gear.
Under the hood, power rises from 480 to 500 hp, thanks in particular to work on direct injection. On the Cabriolet version, the 3,800 cm3 6-cylinder engine propels the car’s four passengers to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, for a top speed of 194 mph.
