The Targa has long had a special place in the 911 program and has its own regular fan base. In the Netherlands, the 964 Targa made it as the official car of what is now the KLPD, which used it to control the highways, with the special feature that one could control traffic while standing in the car. The current generation of Targa’s has long since lost the removable roof, but you could still stand up in the car with a little good will. The Targa roof has a huge area that can be opened completely.
