- Blue over Blue
- Just over 3,000 Miles
RUF Automobile GmbH, a highly respected German performance manufacturer known for pushing the limits of Porsche 911–based cars, created an extremely rare model under its exclusive “Ultimate” program. Only two Ultimate cars were ever built: a 2016 prototype and this second example, which features a unique blue-on-blue specification.
Built on a 964 platform and completed in 2022 for a close associate of Alois Ruf, the car combines lightweight materials (carbon fiber components and steel wide-body construction) with high performance. It produces 580 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine, accelerates to 62 mph in under three seconds, and exceeds 211 mph. Mechanically identical to the original prototype, it includes RUF’s signature engineering features like a full roll cage and manual transmission. Despite being a RUF build, it carries a Porsche VIN—likely for production reasons—adding to its uniqueness. With just over 4,900 KM, it stands as the final and strongest air-cooled RUF conversion ever made.
