Michelin 992 Endurance Cup – As close as it gets for spectators and racers alike
Following the successful premiere of the first endurance race exclusively for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars last year, Creventic, in cooperation with Michelin and Porsche Motorsport, organized another 12-hour race at Spa in 2025. On the Ardennes roller coaster in Belgium, 25 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars battled for victory in the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup. We were there live to capture the most exciting moments for you!
Open house days at the Formula 1 circuit in Spa Francorchamps
The program for the second edition of the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup by Creventic & Porsche Motorsport began on Thursday. Dutch organizer Creventic initially offered free practice sessions and a regular track day for amateur drivers as part of the supporting program. This allowed the entire field of drivers to familiarize themselves with the track and the cars. Since the grid at this endurance event consists equally of full-time professionals and winners of national Carrera Cup classes as well as amateurs who have just obtained their racing license, this was a very sensible schedule.

This mix also symbolizes the character of the entire event. Creventic is committed to creating the most accessible motorsport events for their visitors. At their events, such as the 24H SERIES, spectators gain insights that would be unthinkable in other racing classes. Every ticket includes permission to move freely along the race track and even in the paddock. As a special highlight, all spectators are also allowed onto the starting grid before the race! You never get this close to the heroes of motorsport anywhere else…

The entire weekend at the legendary track, where the first race was held exactly 100 years ago, was not just a racing event but more like an open house. Where every racing legend imaginable has made their mark on the Grand Prix winners’ list – Fangio, Clark, Senna, Prost, Hill, Schumacher, Häkkinen, Hamilton, Vettel, Verstappen, and many more – there was honest, accessible motorsport for everyone!
Thrilling action already in the qualifying sessions
Qualifying was already close and promised thrilling racing. In the first free practice session, the three leading teams from MDM, Parker, and Black Falcon were separated by a mere 0.155 seconds. In the shootout between the top ten, MDM once again secured the top spot – also with a 0.155-second lead over Parker and last year’s winners Black Falcon. Last year’s third-place finishers Red Camel – Jordans had to settle for ninth place after violating the track limits.

Friday night’s practice session in the darkness revealed an equally close picture. Here, the first four cars were within half a second of each other. It was therefore clear that from the start on Saturday at 9:45 a.m., there would be close battles for position and attempts to catch up until the finish line was crossed in complete darkness after a race around the clock. Creventic’s goal of transferring the spirit of the close Porsche Cup races to the endurance race was thus also achieved in 2025.
Countless fans on the grid, racing excitement from countless perspectives, varied supporting program
The highlight of the weekend was, of course, Saturday – race day! From 9 a.m. onwards, numerous fans and spectators flocked to the starting grid. There, they were able to snap photos and experience the hustle and bustle of the starting grid up close. What Formula 1 fans can only dream of, everyone can experience at the 992 Endurance Cup. For the racing action, there was free seating in all grandstands around the track. During the 12-hour race, many spectators took the opportunity to walk the seven-kilometer route around the track. This allowed them to fully enjoy the race from many perspectives and with different lighting conditions.
The supporting program was also impressive. For the youngest guests there was a specially constructed mini kart track. There, the kids were able to demonstrate their racing talent. The highlight of the supporting program took place in the area of the old pit complex towards the world-famous Eau Rouge. There, the Porsche Club Francorchamps hosted the Porsche Paddock Rendezvous. The club meeting featured Cars & Coffee and the traditional Grand Marquee with parts sales, model cars, simulators, and good food.

As a special spectacle, a jury selected the most exciting vehicles from over 250 parked Porsche models during Cars & Coffee. From the F-Model to the 992, everything bearing the Zuffenhausen crest was represented here – including, of course, transaxle and mid-engine sports cars. At 3 p.m. in the afternoon, the prizes for the top three winners of the Best of Show Awards were presented at the Grad Marquee. Unbeknownst to her, an old acquaintance even landed in second place: Birte Krause!

Tough but fair racing dominated the 12 Hours of Spa
In Porsche brand cups, fierce wheel-to-wheel battles are the norm. While many endurance races are characterized by tactics, Creventic’s second edition of the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup also saw plenty of battles on the track. The 25 participating teams came from ten different countries, and the field of drivers consisted of participants from 22 nations.

Since both last year’s winners Black Falcon and Red Camel-Jordans had some ground to make up, spectators were treated to some exciting comebacks early on. No wonder the Porsche 918 Spyder safety car had to intervene several times to bring the field back together again.
After 12 hours and more than 1,000 km of racing, Black Falcon’s number 48 team, with drivers Gabriele Piana, Dylan Pereira, Tobias Müller, and Carlos Rivas, crossed the finish line first. To honor them, there were fireworks at the finish line – a spectacular light show in the darkness of Spa! Second place went to Red Camel – Jordans ahead of Van Berlo Motorsport by BKR.
Michelin 992 Endurance Cup, we’ll be back!
We can only congratulate everyone involved. With the 992 Endurance Cup, Creventic has not only shown courage, but above all created an event that is second to none. Together with Michelin, Porsche Motorsport, and last but not least the Porsche Club Francorchamps, David Vink and his team have created a real fixture in the Porsche world calendar. Our conclusion: We’ll be happy to come back! The 2026 edition will probably take place again on the first weekend in September.
