Porsche is expanding the model range of the current 911 with three models featuring all-wheel drive. With the Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S and Targa 4S, the Stuttgart-based company now offers six different 911 all-wheel drive models. With the new edition of the Targa 4S, Porsche is also commemorating the 60th anniversary of the so-called safety convertible. All models feature the familiar engine from the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S.
The Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S and Targa 4S have 30 hp more than their predecessors
Since the introduction of the facelifted 992 generation 911, only the GTS models have been available with all-wheel drive. Porsche fans who can do without the 541 hp of the t-Hybrid have so far lacked a lower-priced alternative. Those who agree with Walter Röhrl – “Everything except all-wheel drive is a compromise” – can now breathe a sigh of relief. With the new Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S and Targa 4S, fans of the all-wheel-drive 911 now have more choice.
The new Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S and Targa 4S are available in all three body styles – Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa.
Naturally, the 4S models feature the engine from the Carrera S. This means that the 3.0-litre biturbo engine delivers 480 hp, which is 30 hp more than the previous model. However, this has only a marginal effect on performance. The 4S Coupé with Sport Chrono Package goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.3 seconds, down from 3.4 seconds. The Cabrio and Targa take 3.5 seconds instead of 3.6 seconds. Without the optional Sport Chrono Package, the standard sprint takes two tenths of a second longer. The top speed for all body styles is 308 kph. The only transmission option is the 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission.
Standard equipment for all-wheel drive 4S models also significantly upgraded
In addition to the almost obligatory performance upgrade, Porsche also upgraded the standard equipment of the 992.2 Carrera 4S and Targa 4S. A sports exhaust system, 20-inch Carrera S wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, as well as Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus are always included. The Porsche 992.2 Targa 4S even comes with rear-axle steering as standard. All models also feature the leather package, Matrix LED headlights, smartphone holder with inductive charging, light design package and lane assist.

Porsche’s newest models share the brakes of the stronger GTS models. The 4S model series features the same 408 and 380 millimeter brake discs and red brake calipers. But you can also opt for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) for an additional €10,531.50. The rear seat bench in the coupé, on the other hand, is free of charge. While the Porsche 992.2 Targa 4S and the Carrera 4S Cabrio are always equipped with rear seats as standard, the coupé is delivered as a two-seater as standard and only fitted with rear seats on request.
All Carrera and Targa 4S models of the Porsche 992.2 feature the 3.0-litre biturbo engine with 480 hp from the Carrera S.
No, all 992.2 4S models are delivered with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
No, PASM is not part of the Sport Chrono Package. It must be ordered separately for €1,090.04 and is only available in conjunction with rear-axle steering for €2,247.91.
No, PCCB costs an additional €10,531.50.
Prices for the Coupé start at €163,000, the Cabriolet costs at least €177,200 and the Targa starts at €178,900.
The Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S Coupé is a two-seater as standard. The rear seat bench is available as a free special option. The Cabrio and Targa 4S are always four-seaters.
60 years of Porsche Targa – is the Porsche 992.2 Targa 4S the most beautiful form of open-top driving?
With the new model variants, the Zuffenhausen-based company is also commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Targa. What was once designed as a safety convertible so that open-top vehicles could still be sold in the US has long since become a style icon. The technically impressive, fully automatic roof mechanism stows the roof section in the rear of the vehicle within 19 seconds.

Thanks to the beautiful aluminum Targa bar, the 992.2 Targa 4S is probably one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, form of open-top driving! To enable drivers of the new 911 Targa 4S to choose the perfect color combination, Porsche offers four different colors for the roof elements: black, blue, red and brown.
Prices for the new Porsche 992.2 Carrera 4S start from €163,000
Porsche has positioned the 992.2 Carrera 4S between the Carrera S and Carrera GTS in terms of price. At €163,000, the coupé costs €8,200 more than a Carrera S and €12,500 less than the GTS. The convertible starts at €177,200, while the 992.2 Targa 4S costs €178,900. With a few equipment packages and exciting colors, most 2025 911 Carrera 4S models are likely to approach the €200,000 mark.
