As early as the 1930s, the new color pigments from the automotive industry were used instead of the dyes and colored oils that had been common up until then. These were easier to dissolve and also made a wider range of colors possible.

The nail polish base consists of up to 80% natural ingredients. In addition, all nail colors are 14-free. This means that Cult Car Colors do without 14 questionable ingredients that are contained in some conventional nail polishes and replace them with better alternatives. A conscious decision has been made not to add microplastics and to avoid metallic colors instead. The nail polishes are odorless when applied. They are vegan and cruelty-free, manufactured in Germany and made by hand.
