Type 7 Volume Five – the latest volume in the Type 7 book series.
Designed with great attention to detail and carefully curated, the fifth annual edition distills the best of Type 7 in its purest form. It comes in distinctive, protective shipping packaging featuring a collage of photographs and artwork from inside the book.
Published in a limited edition, the specially designed cardboard pull-tab—shaped like the Type 7 logo—can be peeled off to reveal a striking orange slipcase. Five years of Type 7 are reflected in five unique works of art created by the creative professionals featured in the book:
Brittany Fanning’s distinctive surrealist style depicts a cat lounging casually on the hood of a Porsche 911; Damon Way, co-founder of DC Shoes, stages a Porsche 944 inspired by Joy Division artwork; a 911’s rev limiter races toward the red zone; Aiden de Cadenet’s inherited Porsche 356 is bathed in the sunset on Mulholland Drive; and a historic Porsche 911 rally car battles its way through a special stage in a vintage photograph. Metallic printing inks and special insert pages run throughout the book, creating an experience that is just as surprising as the stories and the striking photography within.
Once the slipcase is removed and the book is opened, *Type 7 Volume Five* delves deeper than ever—featuring portraits of internationally renowned artists such as Keita Morimoto, visionary architecture ranging from Marcel Breuer’s brutalist austerity to the modern minimalism of Not A Hotel, and an exploration of the timeless fascination of automotive design and culture.
