1962 Porsche 356 (T6) B Cabriolet

The beautifully restored 1962 Porsche 356B Cabriolet was completed at the factory with the following options: Michelin Tires, Ornamental Wheel Caps with Porsche Crest, 1 Pair of Safety Belts, Blaupunkt Radio “Frankfurt,” Two Speakers and Antenna. A detailed California ownership history is documented in the binder that accompanies the car and the mechanical service records on hand date back to the late 1970s.

The most recent owner purchased this car from European Collectibles in 2014 and used it as a weekend driver for a year before sending it out to be repainted. After talking to many local car collectors and avid 356 Club members, he settled on East Auto Body for the paintwork. The body was stripped to bare steel, repaired, and aligned as needed and then painted in Signal Red. While the exterior trim and gauges were removed from the car, they were restored and replated as needed to match the freshness of the newly applied paint. Reassembly was then done with new seals and rubber throughout. In early 2023, additional restoration work included the installation of a new leather interior. While some may have mixed leather and vinyl to save a few bucks, this is all leather including the dash pad, door panels and front and rear seats. The result is stunning. While at the trim shop, a new black canvas top was sewn and fitted along with a new headliner and top boot.

This is an excellent running and driving 356 Cabriolet that has been fully restored by some of the best shops in Southern California and has just received a major service. It is matching numbers throughout and complete with owner’s manuals, radio manuals, tool kit and jack.
