We are excited to offer this extremely rare, summer yellow 1987 Porsche Carrera G50 Coupe.

For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This rare and all original Carrera G50 Coupe is one of those examples!

History:

The replacement for the SC series came in 1984 as the 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. This was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling and new brake, electronic, and suspension technologies.

A new higher-displacement engine, a 3.2-litre horizontally opposed flat 6-cylinder unit, was utilized. At the time Porsche claimed it was 80% new.

In 1987, the Carrera got a new five-speed gearbox sourced from Getrag, model number G50 with proven Borg Warner synchronizers. This slightly heavier version also featured a hydraulically operated clutch.

With the new engine, power was increased to 217 hp (at 5,900 rpm) for North American-delivered cars.

This car:
Our car on offer is one of only a handful (some sources claim 7 Coupes and 3 Targas) finished in the stunning color of summer yellow (L-10-W Limonengelb). This is a 1987 only color for the 3.2l Carrera and our example is still 100% original paint. A stunning color combination with black leather interior. This is a very collectable example, not only for the rare color but the car is also completely original throughout. This Porsche has never been apart, no modifications at all except for the radio (and the original one comes with it uninstalled)! Still sitting as delivered at factory US spec ride height and on rare 7 & 8×15 Fuchs wheels (most 3.2 Carreras came on 16’s) the car has this unmolested, all original look you rarely see any more today. Also, it is one of the first 100 G-50 Coupes built (#69).

Sold new in the California Bay area and remained there it’s whole life. The chassis has 119k miles with a top end rebuild just 3k miles ago. All paperwork throughout the years and documentation back to day one, including the original bill of sale and the window sticker and owners and (stamped) service manuals.

The car runs, drives, shifts and brakes like a 2 year old car. The desirable G-50 transmission is smooth and quick. Everything works as it should. There are some scratches and minor dings, imperfections as expected on a 35 year old vehicle, that has been enjoyed, but we have decided, to leave the car completely alone with no touching up or color sanding. The paint  still has a wonderful shine to it despite being out here in the California sun. Zero cracking on the dashboard and only very limited signs of wear on the leather consistent with mileage.

Good tires and recent service. This highly collectable 911 comes with complete tool kit, original air compressor, jack and spare tire. Zero rust or corrosion anywhere, very clean in, out and under. True collector condition.

Likely one of the rarest G-50 Carrera Coupes on the market.
