This Speedster was ordered new by Mr Jack Tordoff, a driver of some note and owner of JCT600 one of the UK’s oldest and largest official Porsche dealerships. He specifically wanted the car finished in this lovely shade of Dark Forest Green Metallic and since this was only offered on the 964 model his car had to wait until the very end of Speedster production in order for Porsche to accommodate his wishes. Needless to say, it is not normal for a manufacturer to be so accommodating! The wheel centres were body-coloured and the interior trimmed in contrasting Linen leather with Charcoal beading and Sage carpets. In addition the script from the engine lid was deleted and unusually heated seats were fitted.

Following delivery the car remained on show unregistered in The JCT600 Porsche showroom into 1990. Finally, after much persuasion Mr Tordoff agreed to sell the car to a favoured customer. He duly took delivery in late 1990 and obviously loved the car as he kept it until 2009. During his ownership the mileage increased to just 5,600 miles, the car was only used very carefully on dry summer days. The car was returned annually to JCT600 for servicing as indicated in the stamped service book and invoices on file.

We purchased the car and as ever it remains original and lovely throughout.  It has just been service once again by Porsche Swindon and drives like a new example. This striking Speedster comes with all books/ tools/keys/tailored car cover and a history file that documents the car’s whole life. It looks, drives, and even smells like new in all respects.
