Distinguished by its “camel hump” tonneau cover and cut-down, frameless windscreen, around 2,100 examples of Porsche’s 911 Speedster were built during a single-year of production in 1989. This car was completed to “Turbo look” specification, which brought wider front wings, rear quarter panels, and beautifully dished black-and-chrome Fuchs alloy wheels. Such a flourish suits an all-black configuration for the exterior, cabin, and soft-top.
Electric heated seats were chosen, plus a shortened gear lever for the Getrag transmission, mated to the air-cooled, 3,164-cc flat-six. Completed in June 1989, this 911 was delivered the following month to the Grossklos Porsche dealership in Saarbrücken, Germany. During the 2000s, a subsequent owner registered the Speedster in France and Italy before returning the car to its homeland.
The consigning family acquired the car in December 2007. During their custodianship, it has enjoyed continual use and gained repeated GTÜ certification since 2015. The Speedster further benefits from regular services, the most recent carried out in August 2023. This car shows 72,271 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing and is accompanied by its stamped Porsche service book.
