Designed by Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche and debuted at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Porsche 911 has become the world’s quintessential sports car. Porsche has built more than a million 911s since 1963 and more than two-thirds of the marque’s 30,000 race wins have come by way of the formidable 911. The 911’s storied history is one of innovative design, relentless development, and bulletproof reliability. Ferry Porsche famously said, “The 911 is the only car you could drive on an African safari, or at Le Mans, to the theatre, or through New York city traffic.”

A favorite of Porsche purists, the Carrera 3.2 succeeded the 911 SC in 1984. Evolutionary in design, the new Carrera exhibited improved reliability through revised chain tensioners, and for 1986, improved handling through uprated anti-roll bars.

This sensational 1986 Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet is a virtual time capsule, displaying just 4,685 miles when catalogued. The Porsche is presented in the rare color combination of Grand Prix White with white Fuchs wheels and features the optional rear spoiler and sport seats. A contrasting burgundy leather interior and burgundy top complete its handsome appearance. In 2021, the Porsche had its air-conditioning system upgraded to R134A and also received service work to the engine.
