For the first time since 1977, the Carrera name was revived in 1983 as a successor to the successful SC series. In the last « 911 » (after this it became 964) the entire electronics, brakes and chassis were adjusted. Apart from this improvement, the engine block was enlarged to a 3.2 liter with 219 HP. The 3.2 Carrera model of the 911 series was produced from 1983 to 1989.

Ours has a snappy G50 transmission, and really drives like a Porsche should. A matching-numbers car delivered in the rare ‘Leinengrau’, which is really a particularly cool eighties color. Originally the car was delivered in the USA, and in the Netherlands it was always pampered by Porsche specialist Visser, with a neatly stamped booklet as a result.
