1973 Porsche 911 E Targa in Irish Green for sale!

Finding an exemplary example of Porsche’s famous Targa in the UK has become an increasingly difficult task. This beautiful 2.4E Targa now finished in Irish Green has been impeccably cared for by a serial Porsche enthusiast who has owned it for over 30 years.

With the owner finding the 2.4 litre engine somewhat ‘lacking’ he embarked some years ago on an engine rebuild to correct 2.7RS specification using the original engine by leading air-cooled specialist Steve Winter of JAZ Porsche. The RS engine couples the lightness and free revving nature of the short stroke 2.2 litre engine with the increase in torque and horsepower of the 2.4 litre, the 2.7 litre engine provides fantastic performance even by today’s standards (190bhp/tonne).

As owners of these 1970’s Porsches will attest, regular maintenance and use is the key to longevity. Thankfully, reading through the car’s substantial history file, the car has been maintained fastidiously with regular invoices from JAZ including most recently a full gearbox rebuild, total fuel hose replacement front to rear with ethanol-proof hoses as well as replacing the engine’s rear main oil seal. However, the quality of the car isn’t limited to just the mechanicals with a full, back to bare metal repaint being completed in 2015, at this point any areas of corrosion were addressed before the car was superbly resprayed in the correct Porsche shade of Irish Green.

A car that wants and needs for nothing other than use and enjoyment in the coming warmer months. This fully matching numbers Porsche is presented in beautiful condition along with its original tools, spare wheel, all books and accompanying history file
