According to a copy of the original purchase invoice, this 911 S 2.2 Coupé was finished in red and delivered new on 1 October 1969. Reportedly, it was initially used as a demonstrator for Pon, the official Dutch importer for Porsche. Of the 1,744 examples of the S Coupé built, thanks to the work of this car, it is believed that five originally found their way to the Netherlands.
Owned into the mid-1970s by Martin de Groot, who lived next to the Zandvoort Grand Prix circuit, the car was then bought by Mr Tim de Leeuw. Around 2003, he tasked ERPA Porsches of Beneden-Leeuwen with a total restoration at a cost of €35,784 (invoice available to view on file). Sold via the August SA dealer of Ohain in Belgium, the 911 S then joined The Curated Collection in August 2016.
A desirable S 2.2 with an interesting early history, this Porsche is accompanied by its owner’s guide, spare wheel, and original-type steering wheel (an OMP item is currently fitted). A true purist’s 911, this Porsche would fit in to any marque collection.
