Porsche upgraded the flagship 911 in 1972 with its enlarged 2.4 liter engine up from 2.2 liters and a stronger 5-speed “915” gearbox. The oil tank was moved to the front of the rear passenger wheel to enhance handling. 1972 was the only year with an oil filler cap accessible from the passenger rear quarter panel. The pre-1974 911 is an icon of the motoring world. With their values on the rise in recent years, it has become increasingly hard to find exceptional examples in both condition and provenance.

This 911 S received a no expense spared documented restoration by Porsche specialists, CPR of Southern California. It was stripped to bare metal and repainted in its original rare color of Tangerine. This 911 S has been owned by a Porsche collector for the past decade and has always received proper service and care regardless of use.

This matching numbers 911 S is complete with its original tool kit, restoration records and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. It is a very well-sorted early 911 S in a rare color and is exceptional in every way. It delivers an outstanding 911 experience with a tight feel, strong power has been loved and respected to date by previous owners and deserves another welcomed, new home.
