This is absolutely a car for someone who wants to drive and enjoy it without fear of stonechips or knocks. The paint is showing its age as is the interior; a little rough around the edges but befitting of a car that is not wanting to be polished every weekend or sit in a garage.

Having said that given both body and interior are original it could certainly make a nice project to work these up in a better state and end up with a car that like it left the factory but with some serious upgrades underneath that this highly competent chassis is more than capable of taking:

Engine and gearbox (Limited slip differential) from a 944 Turbo S 1991.
Engine completely refurbished with every single bearing and gasket replaced.
New Turbo and stainless exhaust system 3″ hand built by PPF
Engine optimized for drivability and reliability. 379 HP with only 1.2 Bar
HR « Nurburgring spec » Coilover all around (Torsion bar delete).
Uprated anti-roll bars
996 GT3 brakes front

This 944 is a true drivers car as it stands now – better road holding thanks to chassis upgrades, better braking and faster straight line speed with a tuned engine. One to enjoy at the weekend or on track, but as with all Porsche cars wonderfully useable when you need it to be. Thanks to a fully stock interior it is completely capable to making longer road trips and carrying out menial tasks if required, but in a more fun way than your typical daily.
