// Design

The penultimate generation Porsche 911, the 991.2 is unmistakably a real 911. Fortunately, we can say. Yet there is no denying that this is a model of the future. Sure, the round headlights look retro, but consist of LEDs (Porsche LED Matrix) and feature state-of-the-art PDLS Plus technology and dynamic cornering lights. Lovely to see Porsche seamlessly blend old and new. This beauty also includes the sought-after 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels, with silver Porsche emblem in the wheel core and, of course, anti-theft wheel studs. Moreover, this matches perfectly with the GT silver bodywork – including exterior mirrors painted with the bodywork – and anthracite painted high-gloss wheels. Aluminium trim strips, plus the Porsche lettering on the rear carry the mysterious hue through to detail on the even silver livery of this 911 Carrera 4S.

// Equipment

Inside, the passion for design and technology continues in style: black leather upholstery, with black-coloured stitching, tastefully makes its way through the high-tech Carrera 4S cockpit. The partly analogue counters plus the clock from the Sport Chrono package are nicely distinctive among all the digital systems. The multifunctional and heated sports steering wheel and the electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated Sport seats Plus including Memory make you feel right at home aboard the Porsche 991.2.

// Technology

And of course, the king of German sports cars is equipped with all the conveniences, including Connect Plus (Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, WLAN, Vehicle-Tracking-System), LED daytime running lights, Light-Design package, exterior/internal mirror with dimming function and rain sensor, Sport Design exterior mirrors, an electric deflector, central locking/starting system Porsche entry & drive, cruise control, Dynamic Engine Bearing (PADM), home-link garage door opener and front and rear parking aid including reversing camera. Options that are more about tight performance also abound: we already mentioned a 10 mm lowered PASM sports suspension, Sport-chrono package incl. dynamic engine bearing PADM, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus: rear axle damper electronically controlled) and the sports exhaust system.

However good the sound system sounds, the sound of 420 blood-curdling horses in the rear is always preferable. Listen carefully to how the blown 3.0-litre 6-cylinder boxer engine does its job while shooting past 100 km/h from standstill in 4.2 seconds, and you will understand exactly what we mean. The all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4S just pops through its eight automatic gears until the top of 301 km/h comes into view. Nice isn’t it, how fast time goes…
