2004 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo Cabriolet X50 for sale!

The 996 was a revolutionary car for Porsche and showcased a new first for the 911, the water cooled flat six era. The 996 is a car that can be daily driven, it is comfortable and refined. Gone are the hot oil smells, rough idling, and finicky air cooled quirks that so many Porsche fans were used to and may have caused many buyers to shy away from he brand. The 996 would appeal to a whole new demographic of sports car buyer and as a result many different models were offered that would please the most die hard petrolhead as well as just plain ordinary enthusiasts whom liked European styled and engineered cars. Porsche launched the all new 911Turbo to the world in 2000 and the motoring press was dumbfounded with how good it was in every detail, performance, luxury, comfort, and technology. The old saying of the « widow maker » will not apply here, the 996 Turbo is a 400 horsepower tour de force yet is an easy car to drive, exceptionally fast, and has the road handling confidence of all wheel drive. It is just as enjoyable for running to the grocery store and shopping mall as it is on the track or long road trip. One of the best all round sports cars of last 20 years, the Turbo is now gaining traction as a modern collectable.

This 2004 model year Turbo Cabriolet was sold new by Barrier Porsche of Bellevue, Washington and has been a NW car from new. Finished in striking Midnight Blue Metallic over Graphite full leather interior and navy blue soft top, this 996 is a fresh break from the normal silver and black cars that were so commonly ordered.

The options list is impressive; 6-speed manual gearbox, X50 power pkg which adds 50 ponies and brings peak torque up to 459 ft lbs, removable hard top, power-heated front seats with lumbar support, thicker 3-spoke sport steering wheel, aluminum/chrome package, Carbon/aluminum brake handle, shifter knob, red brake calipers, xenon headlamps with washers, colored wheel crests, windscreen, PCM with navigation, BOSE audio pkg, PSM-stabilty management, auto dimming rear view mirror, and stainless door sills.

The original MSRP was a healthy $149,525! All electronics and mechanicals are in good condition with everything functioning as designed. The paint meter readings show that this car wears all of its original Midnight Blue paint with only some minor paint chips consistent with the age and miles. The interior is in very good shape with no cracking or shrinkage of the leather as still smells new. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires measure 7mm or tread depth in front and 5mm in the rear. An oil service, inspection, and brake fluid flush was just performed in June of 2021 and the 60k mile major service was completed in November of 2018. Overall this 996 Turbo can be enjoyed as a daily driver or will make a nice addition to a Porsche collection as being a manual gearbox, X50 pkg Cabriolet, it is quite a rare model to aquire.

Included with the sale are: removable factory hard top with release tool, hard top carrier stand and storage cover, Porsche storm shield fitted car cover, grey factory floor mats, complete owner’s manual set, inflatable spare tire, jack, compressor, tools, wheel lock key, Certificate of Authenticity, Nav CD set, Clean CarFax report, some service records, and one remote key with crested navy leather fob.
