Porsche 997.2 Targa 4S

During 2009 Porsche updated the 997 line-up including styling changes, and a revised engine with direct fuel injection. As a result, the updated 997 Generation II models were faster, lighter and more fuel efficient than the outgoing versions, with improved handling. The Targa 4S Generation II has the 3,800cc engine, which produces 385 hp and allows a 0-62 mph time of just 4.7 secs. Top speed is 183 mph, where permitted.

The 997 Generation II vehicles received positive reviews from the worldwide motoring press; even British motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson, a known detractor of Porsche cars, noted that the 997 will « make love to your fingertips and stir your soul. »

997 Targas are equipped with a 1.54 sq/m glass roof and hatch. At any speed, the roof can be opened in just 7 secs, to slide back underneath the hatch. When the glass roof is retracted, a small glass deflector is raised above the windshield to aid aerodynamic stability, whilst still retaining a wonderful wind-in-the-hair experience. The glass itself incorporates a UV filter to keep temperatures comfortable in the cabin, letting through only 17 percent of the thermal energy of sunlight.  Despite the large glass areas, body rigidity is extremely high and loading comfort is increased thanks to the opening glass rear screen.

Supplied new by Porsche Centre Reading in June 2010, the Targa 4S has benefitted from 6 services.   It also  has its drivers’ book pack, spare key and an excellent history file.  A 12-month written warranty will also be included.
