All 911s leave the factory with unique attributes and characters. All of them offer something that other models may not be as strong with, but the last years of production of the 997 body gave the world something special. It was the first time we got to see the GTS badge on the back of a 911 and the 997 Carrera GTS gave the world the best of what had come of the 997 generation. And although we didn’t know it at the time of launch, this model came to stand historically as one of the brand’s absolute top « drivers ».

This timeless white 997 came new to Sweden in 2011. The exterior is sober and elegant as the 997 GTS often is. The white exterior rests on 19″ black RS Spyder rims with center locking wheels. An attribute the GTS shared with its GT3 and Turbo siblings. Behind it hide red brake calipers and steel discs. Something else that also quickly becomes apparent is the wide body. Something that is particularly prominent over the rear axle where the car seems to be killed over its rear wheels.At the back we find a simple Carrera GTS script and there under four pipes for the sports exhaust.

The interior is far different from a « regular » 997 in the choice of materials and details. Here we find an upholstery in alcantara and leather in a black palette with a light contrast seam. In front of the driver is an alcantara steering wheel and just behind classic analogue gauges against a black background. The inside gets a pop of color thanks to the red belts that nicely weave the contrast of the exterior into the brake caliper.

An exceptionally well-maintained example of one of Porsche’s absolute best sports cars. Sold in Sweden, well-maintained and with just 3,9000 km indicated, this 997 GTS stands as one of the best examples on the market.
