History
The 911 997 series debuted on the market in 2004, followed in 2008 by a slight restyling, but above all profound technical changes, with the introduction of the new direct injection engines and the double clutch PDK gearbox.
The Porsche remains faithful to the layout of the six-cylinder opposed boxer engine, mounted in the rear cantilevered position, a true « signature » of the German manufacturer since the first 911 that dates back to 1963.
First of all, His Majesty 3.8-liter direct injection petrol is installed behind the cockpit, which equips, among others, the Porsche 911 Turbo.
It is the same boxer as the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the same six-cylinder as the Porsche 911 Targa 4S and Porsche 911 Carrera 4S.
The 911 Carrera GTS delivers 410 horsepower and 420 Nm of maximum torque. But only for her: this is her value. A love that culminates in the choice of transmission: manual, six-speed, or automatic, with the seven-speed PDK double clutch.
A 44-millimeter retouch on the side track of the new 911 Carrera GTS suggests the introduction of all-wheel drive: incorrect assessment.
In fact, the Stuttgart company has left traction on the rear axle. Externally, in addition to the signature on the bonnet, the Carrera GTS version is recognizable by some Sport Design accessories: front fascia, 19-inch alloy tires, rear diffuser.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is also equipped with a dedicated exhaust terminal, divided into two pairs of two tailpipes each and with the logos of the special version.
Inside the passenger compartment, the seats are upholstered in black Alcantara and there is a steering wheel, handbrake and Sport Design manual gear knob.
