A Porsche 911 looks good in any color, whether it’s pristine white, distinguished black or Vipergrün. One of our most colorful Porsches is currently a unique 2017 991 Carrera GTS in the color Lava Orange.

With striking colors, Porsche’s designers showed their boldness starting as early as the 1950s and early 1960s with the 356 and the 911. In the 1960s and 1970s, the diversity of Porsche colors only increased and Porsche added even more bright hues.

For decades Porsche had one or more shades of orange in the program. Orange more or less disappeared from the color palette in 1978 only to make its comeback some twenty years later. With shades like Gulf Orange and Pastel Orange. But since Lava Orange appeared as an introductory color on the 991 GT3 RS in March 2015, it has been the uncrowned king among orange shades.

Cannon on wheels

The GTS from the second series 991 has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer engine mated to a seven-speed PDK. “This engine produces 450 hp – 30 hp more than a regular S – so it’s a cannon on wheels. The extras? Sit back and enjoy.

A GTS – and thus this GTS – comes standard with all the tasty options to complete the Porsche 911 as a driver’s car. Like the Sport Chrono package, a sports exhaust, dynamic engine mounts, Porsche Torque Vectoring and Porsche Active Suspension Management PASM. It also comes with many options that make it even more attractive: for example, a SportDesign Package, a power sliding/tilting glass roof, black 20-inch wheels with center wheel nuts, a BOSE Surround Sound-System, adaptive sport seats Plus and alcantara trim details in the interior.”
