The 911 turbo (type 964) featured a wider body compared to the Carrera models with significantly wider wheel arches. At the rear, the rear spoiler largely taken from the 3.3 turbo of the G model, as well as the two oval tailpipes underlined its unique character. The left tube allowed exhaust gases to escape only when the turbocharger boost solenoid valve was open. In the 1991-92 model years, the 911 turbo was powered by a 3.3-liter turbocharged engine developing 320 hp. With the AM 1993, it was equipped with a 3.6 liter engine delivering 360 hp. This version was identifiable, among other things, thanks to the red-colored brake calipers. The Cabriolet version was produced in small series.
