Het voertuig in detail

The 3.6 flat six makes 480 bhp at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque of 620 Nm is available between 1,950 and 5,000 rpm. In this manual guise the 911 Turbo was stated to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9sec, and go onto a maximum speed of 193mph.

The twin turbocharger units feature Variable Turbine Geometry, which claims to eliminate lag and gives a faster response, higher torque output from lower engine speeds, and greater top-end power. Power is put to the road through allwheel drive with Porsche Traction Management (PTM). Using an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, this intelligent technology provides variable drive to each axle. The front/rear split is continuously adjusted based on current road conditions and driver inputs. Although it is biased towards the rear, the front receives more power whenever the situation requires.

Stopping comes courtesy of 350 mm discs front and rear. Other standard features included a new evolution of Porsche Stability Management (PSM) as well as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) featuring electronic damper control. The car’s lightweight design and construction extended to the doors and front lid being constructed in aluminium which offered benefits both in terms of performance and economy. Equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox the car weighed in at an impressive 1,585 kg, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 302.8 bhp per tonne.
