For the 1974 model year, Porsche updated the 911 in order to meet global legislative requirements on safety and emissions. The 2.4-litre engine was replaced with a larger 2.7-litre unit and instead of carburettors, fuel was delivered via K-Jetronic Bosch fuel injection. The fuel injected 2.7-litre engine produced 150 or 173 horsepower for the 911 and 911S respectively.
