Porsche 968 Club Sport
Highlights
- Ultimate lightweight spec
- M030 & M220 options
- Upgrades including suspension
This 968 Club Sport possesses the optimum lightweight drivers spec, retaining the purity of the original concept for the model.
Widely regarded as a legendary Porsche due to the superbly balanced chassis, 6 speed gearbox and torquey 3.0 litre four cylinder engine, only 1923 were made worldwide, with just 179 RHD examples delivered to the UK. It is believed less than 10% had the factory ordered M030 (improved suspension and larger brakes) and L220 (limited slip differential) and so many were further specified with additional weighty options which conflicted with the lightweight ideal.
This one is just right; lightweight Recaro seats, no radio, no central locking, no sunroof or other items. Factory optioned without the extended rear shelf or decals, but with a set of Sabelt four point harnesses.
Further upgrades have been made and include:
KW Variant 3 adjustable coilover suspension (the original (rebuilt) Koni suspension is included with the car for originality).
Front suspension upper and lower bracing bars.
Rose jointed rear anti roll bar links.
Lightweight flywheel.
Lightweight exhaust system.
Extensive history file including original order/invoice, selection of maintenance invoices, wallet, service book driver’s manual, tool roll & spare wheel.
This 968 had only 1 owner from new until 2016 (although entered twice as the registered keeper). It has been the personal car of Adrian Crawford for the last 3 years.
Recently serviced here in the Williams Crawford workshop including new cambelt and balance belt, 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and MOT.
Is this the ultimate Club Sport? It is certainly one for driving and offers pure entertainment…..
