This 991.2 GT3 is presented in the stunning shade of GT Silver Metallic which is paired with black leather and Alcantara interior. Purchased new from Porsche of Annapolis in Maryland, the car has only had two owners and has been based in the greater San Francisco Bay Area since the summer of 2020. The coveted 6-speed manual transmission was selected in this car and the desirable extended-range fuel tank was also optioned. When configuring this car, the original owner clearly wanted to build a car that maximized driving enjoyment while also offering a comfortable place to spend some time, as evidenced by the selection of heated seats, Bose Surround Sound system, and auto-dimming mirrors with rain sensors. Additionally, the ultra-convenient front axle lifter has been optioned which is exceptionally helpful for driving around town and getting in and out of parking lots and driveways. Throughout this car’s life, it has been well maintained by Porsche dealerships annually with the most recent servicing taking place in August of 2022. Showing 9,518 miles from new, this GT3 is sold with its original window sticker as well as the original books and manuals. Given the desirable set of options, this is the perfect car to use a few days a week to drive around town while still being able to hit the track and take advantage of that 9,000 RPM redline.

Das Fahrzeug im Detail

When Porsche unveiled the 991 GT3 in 2013, it was a massive shift for the brand’s famed model. An all-new 3.8-Liter flat-6 that can rev to 9,000 RPM and produces 469 naturally aspirated horsepower. Rear-wheel steering helped the larger car handle even more sharply than the previous 997 generation while also helping with high-speed stability on both the road and track. For the first time ever in a GT3, a dual-clutch gearbox was available for the car, and in fact, it was the only transmission available. Although this made for faster lap times, enthusiasts were disappointed to not at least have a manual option as that was one of the most important elements in previous GT3s. Porsche listened to these complaints and when they debuted the facelifted 991.2 GT3, a 6-speed manual was on the options list. Additionally, the 3.8-liter engine was increased to 4.0-liters with power jumping to 500 hp, while all of the engine internals were refined to reduce friction and improve throttle response. The aerodynamics package was also altered with a deeper front bumper and a slightly higher rear wing that helps the car generate up to 340l lbs of downforce when at speed. The 991.1 GT3 was a very good car that provided real driving enjoyment while feeling like a massive technical step forward for the GT3, but it was not without its issues. With the 991.2 GT3, Porsche hit it out of the park and built a car that is guaranteed to become a certified classic in decades to come.
