This 2010 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet was sold new at Barrier Porsche in Bellevue, WA in February 2010 and has been a life-long western Washington car. Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic Over a Black full leather interior, this 6-speed manual equipped car came with a hefty $116,960 MSRP when new, and currently shows 35,903 miles. On the exterior, a set of 19” Carrera S II Wheels were ordered, as was the deletion of the model designation in the rear. The black full leather interior was ordered with the Bose high-end surround sound, along with the PCM navigation module, Bluetooth and a universal audio interface, meaning that hooking up a phone to play music is a simple process. Powering this Carrera S is the desirable direct fuel injection 3.8 liter water cooled flat-6. In “S” trim, this engine produces 380 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and features an integrated dry-sump oiling system that allows the engine to sit 10mm lower in the chassis and ensures even oiling in fast corners. The 997.2 Carrera S saw a 25 horsepower bump over the outgoing Carrera S, and the new motor does away with the IMS issue that can become problematic in early water cooled Porsches. With this new engine, 0-60 mph happens in 4.7 seconds and the top speed is nearly 190 mph. One of the many reasons these cars are still so sought after is that they were the final 911s to be produced with hydraulic power steering, which is far more talkative and engaging than the electric unit that followed it. Only produced for three years, the 997.2 is a difficult generation to find – and finding one in this stunning Midnight Blue Metallic, with a manual transmission and low miles makes it even more appealing.
