Imported from Fresno, California, and restored in the Netherlands by the award-winning team at Eastend Classics, this 1975 Porsche 911 S 2.7 Coupé represents the first “50 Design Coupe Classic.” Inspired by Porsche Design’s 50-year anniversary in 2022, Eastend created its own historical counterpart — a hand-built, analog celebration of timeless design and precision engineering. The restoration of the original Lusk Car bridges Californian heritage with European craftsmanship, resulting in a perfectly balanced 911 that honours Porsche’s legacy while standing as a unique collectible in its own right.

The vehicle in detail

Originally registered in Fresno, California, this Porsche 911 S 2.7 Coupé spent decades in the ownership of Keith and Martha Lusk, an attorney couple known for their meticulous care.

In January 2019, the car was acquired by Max Smit and entrusted to the award-winning specialists Eastend Classics for a complete, sympathetic restoration.

Every phase reflected Eastend’s guiding principle: honour the soul of the machine while perfecting its form.

The body was stripped to bare metal, corrected, and refinished in its period-correct colour. Engine and gearbox were fully rebuilt to factory specifications; wiring, suspension, brakes, and interior renewed with original-grade materials.

The result preserves the purity and feel of a mid-seventies 911 S — crisp, mechanical, and alive.

When the restoration was completed, Porsche Design celebrated its 50-year anniversary (2022) with two commemorative models: the modern 911 Edition 50 Years Porsche Design (Targa 4 GTS) and a one-off restored 1972 911 S 2.4 Targa, built as a historical counterpart.

That moment inspired Eastend Classics to create its own interpretation — a single restored 1975 911 S 2.7 Coupé, named the “50 Design Coupe Classic.”

A car that symbolises the same bridge between past and present, design and emotion.

After completion, the car was presented at InterClassics 2023 as a concours-level restoration, showcasing Eastend’s craftsmanship.

Reflecting both authenticity and individuality, the car features two interior configurations:

– factory-style Recaro seats trimmed in Pepita fabric, celebrating Porsche’s heritage, and
– a bespoke Tartan interior, crafted as a nod to seventies racing culture.
This dual-interior concept embodies the philosophy behind the 50 Design Coupe Classic: authenticity preserved, experience enhanced.

The Lusk Car became the prototype and inspiration for the 50 Design Coupe Classic series — a California heritage 911 reborn in Europe, restored with artistry, precision, and respect.
