This 1956 Porsche 1500GS Carrera Speedster was owned by a collector who had owned this 356 for over four decades in the Midwest. He had a large collection of Porsches and parts. The Carrera Speedster had been sitting with 20 other Porsche projects in storage and had not been moved in over 35 years. A broker purchased the Carrera Speedster from the collector, and it was offered to European Collectibles. After verifying it was an original GS Speedster, European Collectibles purchased the 356 and completed a full Concours restoration. Since its restoration in 2017, this Carrera Speedster has been shown four times. It won first in class at every event. In 2018, it was purchased by a Southern California Porsche collector in Beverly Hills who had a prominent collection of Speedsters.
European Collectibles performed a no expense spared, full Concour restoration on this 1956 Porsche 1500GS Carrera Speedster over a 28-month period from 2015 to 2017. During the restoration, this 356 was completely disassembled and stripped down to the bare shell so that every aspect could be properly addressed. The body was metal finished, and the panels were pre-fit along with the bumpers, overrider bars, windshield frame, and the soft top frame to ensure the absolute best result. Then the body was sealed, prepped, primed, and painted in Black. All the chrome was fitted and triple-plated and the other components were restored or replaced with OEM or NOS parts.
Accolades – Since the completion of the restoration in 2017, this Carrera GS Speedster has been shown four times and has won first in class at each event.
