1959 Porsche 356 A 1600 Convertible D by Drauz
The production of the Porsche 356 A Convertible D was produced only for one model year, 1959. It was actually produced in two calendar years: from August 1958 through August 1959. According to the Porsche “Geburtsurkunde”, the production for this car was finished on 9 December 1958. The car was delivered with US specification by the factory (Werksverkauf) to first owner Mr. D. Norwitt.
Little is known about the car’s early history. It’s believed the car remained for almost five decades with the same owner in California. Until it was exported to The Netherlands and registered here in 2018. In 2023, the bodywork was repainted by “Classic & Exclusive” Wim de Weerd.
The car is fitted with a period correct luggage rack, photographs of the repaint and of course Porsche Kardex and “Geburtsukunde” confirming matching numbers.
