Our Porsche 356 was delivered to Jacksonville, USA, to Brumos dealerships on September 15th, 1961, to Mr. Spencer Willoughly from Augusta – the original Kardex states that it was delivered with a factory roll bar allowing for competition use.
Its original color was Fjord Green (#6005), which it retained until 2008.
During its 43 years in the USA, records on the US 356 Registry show 6 American owners, including one – US Air Force Commander John Boles – who owned this roadster twice, 30 years apart. He kept the roadster from 2003 to 2014 and undertook a full restoration:
- Interior and soft top (2003)
- Bodywork (2008)
- Complete mechanical restoration (2011 by Till’s Import Car Clinic)
In 2014, the car was purchased by a Belgian collector who imported it from the United States. It was then brought up to European specifications, serviced, and improved by Porsche Van Beurden in Turnhout.
In September 2018, it was acquired by its current French owner.
Since 2018, the roadster has been regularly driven and carefully maintained (invoice file), stored in a heated, secure garage under a cover. It is currently registered in France with a “carte grise collection” (classic registration). The car also comes with a 2019 FIVA passport, number 078534.
