Delivered via Edgar Kittner in Lübeck, Germany. Copy of document available
This beautiful 356 B with Reutter bodywork in the color ivory 6204 was delivered in 1962 in Lübeck via Edgar Kittner, entrepreneur and racing driver with the engine no. 805 714. A copy of the delivery document is available. Kittner founded Edgar Kittner KG, a Volkswagen dealership, in 1948. At the same time, he supported Ferry Porsche in his plans to develop his own sports car. Porsche returned the favor with a sales and service contract. The car was sold to Günther Drews from Pinneberg. The car then passed through two more loving hands before the full restoration began in 2017.
The interior was completely overhauled and upholstered in the finest black genuine leather. The new Super 90 engine with the number 800 487 was completely overhauled by Werner Bombe. A true specialist for engines and carburetors. The fact that the car was restored by various specialists such as Udo Scharf and Willy Schmitz guarantees the high quality of the work. The restoration also included a complete overhaul of the transmission unit by the Erasmus company in Aachen. The result is a vehicle that is not only visually impressive, but also technically of the highest standard. Since the restoration, the car has only been driven approx. 2136 km in the best weather to classic car events and meetings. The driving experience with 950 kilos and 90 hp is simply breathtaking. The power-to-weight ratio was like a good recipe back then.
