The top model within the Porsche 356 model series has always been the performance-enhanced Carrera version. From 1955 to 1964, only 167 units of the 356 Carrera Cabriolet were built at Porsche (A, B and C models). From March 1955, the Carrera racing engines, which were initially only used in Porsche racing operations, were also available for the production models with road approval. In this top-of-the-range engine, the 1600 cc engine in type T2 developed 105 hp / 77 kW with two overhead camshafts. The Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet shown here is one of only 67 vehicles built. It is the 8th last 2.0 liter convertible of the B series, completed at Porsche on May 31, 1963 and delivered to MAHAG in Munich, Germany.
