Throughout its entire history (1964–2011), the Porsche was based in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. Between 1989 and 2000, the Porsche underwent a complete restoration. In 2011, it was then exported to Germany.

The engine was completely overhauled by the current owner three years ago by a specialist in Hamburg. The engine has very good starting and running characteristics, which contributes to the great driving pleasure of the 356. The transmission was also overhauled by a Porsche specialist after 2016.

The chassis and steering are in good condition, serviced, and fully functional.
