This Pre-A Coupe underwent a comprehensive concour restoration, which involved a complete disassembly of the entire 356, stripping the shell down to bare metal and doing a complete restoration it to its original configuration. Many skilled experts from Orange County, California worked on this project, and Jim Liberty Motors oversaw the restoration’s completion. Although the Certificate of Authenticity does not list any factory options, many period dealer-installed options believed to be added at the time of delivery. These options include red-tip Hirschmann Antenna, Abarth exhaust, Dual Pre-A Lucas side view mirrors, body-mounted Bosch fog lights, and a factory Golde Sunroof.
The paintwork is in stunning overall condition, with excellent gaps and panel fit. The Tan leather interior features red piping on the front seats, factory headrests, tan rear seats, and rear panels with Oatmeal square weave carpeting, factory black rubber floor mats with custom Oatmeal square weave floor mats on top. Interior options include smoked-plastic sunshades, map light, a 8-day clock, Telefunken Radio, and a rare double turn signal column. The beautiful three-spoke wooden steering wheel, Bakelite knobs with chrome bezels, and restored VDO gauges which add to the elegance to this Pre-A. Factory 16” x 4.5” Südrad chrome wheels with chromed baby moon hubcaps fitted to Avon radial 16” tires.
Mechanically powered by its matching 1500cc flat-four engine with a matching 4-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drum brakes. Complete with Certificate of Authenticity and owner’s manual.
