The original owner Mr. Erwin Reim purchased this 356 SC in Hamberg Germany while he was in the US military and drove the car for the next five years in Germany. Several years into owning the car while still in Germany, the car had an engine failure and a new but incorrect 356C engine was installed.
The car then followed the original owner back to the United States and was shipped to Mill Valley California from Germany in 1969 where it was traded into Mill Valley Porsche for a new 911. Upon arriving to Mill Valley Porsche, it was noticed that the car was missing its correct engine, and a brand new factory replacement 356SC engine was sourced and installed in the car in 1969. The car was then sold to Donald Nolan of Reno Nevada whom cared for and enjoyed this SC for the next 45 years until 2014. Mr Nolan was an extremely fastidious owner that kept a log book of every time he drove, fueled or serviced the car. This log book documents his entire 45 year ownership and has been retained in the car’s documentation.
In 2014 the car was purchased by one of our long time clients whom is an avid Porsche collector and restorer. He drove the car as a daily driver until 2017 when he commenced a meticulous ground up restoration changing the color combination of red/black to its current combination of Silver over a Navy blue leather interior.
This rare period correct 356SC still retains its original factory electric sunroof and is ready to be enjoyed worry-free for years to come. It is cosmetically outstanding and fully sorted mechanically making it ready for thousands of spirited miles.
