All discussions about replacing the 6-cylinder engine with a smaller 4-cylinder boxer engine have now faded away. Apart from the fact that the history of the brand began with a four-cylinder boxer in the 356, the last generation of 4-cylinder engines has since proved its worth. The name "718 Boxster" is a justified allusion to a four-cylinder racing model that shone in the 1960s, the Porsche 718 RKS with a mid-engine for the rear axle.

The 2.5-liter engine in the S version came onto the market with a technical innovation by equipping the turbo with variable geometry. This is one of the reasons why the engine delivers 350 hp and a mountain of 420 Nm of torque. In combination with the mid-engine concept, this makes for downright spectacular performance: the sprint from 0-100 kph takes just 4.2 seconds and the top speed is 285 kph. This is according to the official Porsche figures, which everyone now knows have been conservatively recorded. The power of the engine in combination with the exceptionally good chassis and steering of the 911 Turbo S make it a pure driver's car. In practice, the average fuel consumption is 1 in 10. In short, the Boxster S is a fairly economical roadster that is the absolute reference in its price class in terms of road holding and performance.

Origin and maintenance. The car was originally delivered by Porsche Stuttgart and has had all the necessary maintenance at the following mileages. The work carried out is noted in the complete service booklet.

Paint measurement, tires and brakes. We carry out a paint measurement as standard during our purchase inspection. This 718S is still completely in its first paint. Only the right door has a very slight elevation, which indicates a local spot repair. The front (screens, mirror covers, trunk lid and front bumper) is in the film. The age and tread of the tires are good. Tread depth of the rear tires 4.5 mm (item 5121) and the front tires also 4.5 mm (item 2620). Brake disks and brake pads are good all round.
