1965 Porsche 911 2.0 – ’65 Full restoration

Presented in its original & rare colour scheme

The Porsche 911 has proven to be one of the most long-lived sports cars of all time—a legacy of success that can be traced to the earliest and most stylistically pure short-wheelbase variants of the mid-1960s.

The ’64 and ’65 911’s are you unique because of many small details like the chrome horn grill with 4 screws, fixed shock absorbers, small contact key, …

The vehicle in detail

THIS 1965 911

This car left the factory in october 1965 wearing beautiful Gulf Blue paint over black leatherette interior, as confirmed by the COA. The 911 was driven in and around Michigan for a long time, and was always kept in a good condition. In 2015 it was sold to California were the current owner bought it in 2017 before bringing it to Europe for restoration. It was still rolling and running but could do with some proper care. The car was once painted black, but still showing the original blue paint on several parts and panels. It proved the perfect ‘early 911’ for complete restoration!

This example received a nut&bolt restoration in 2018 and today still looks like when it left the shop – or just like 1965 for that matter! The Gulf blue paint still has a deep & beautiful gloss and the black perforated leatherette interior is just factory fresh. We can find the tinted windows allround as well as the Webasto auxiliary heater in the smuggler box.

The body was stripped to bare metal, restored and received a special KTL treatment. Body was very well preserved before restoration and we can find original door panels and wings, proved by the number. All 5 wheels are original 4.5 x 15 inch and matching 07 / 65 examples.

The car came to Europe with lots of original parts like gauges, wheels, buttons, mechanics,… Suspension, brakes and all other mechanical parts were overhauled, repaired, restored, replaced,… to achieve the best possible result.  On the inside we find the original wooden steering wheel and dash panels were remade from original 1965 mahogany wood, just like the original. We can also see the original flat floor, 3 screw seats hinges and window frames, window winders, chrome carpet holders, 4 screw horn grills,…

An original early 911 with matching drive train and presented in its original color scheme is a car for the true Porsche connoisseur. This car comes with the Kardex and a Porsche Certificate as well as the extensive restoration file including pictures and invoices. It has an original spare wheel and brand new toolkit. This early 911 would make an excellent addition to the garage of any enthusiast and is sure to draw endless attention wherever it is driven.

The car has Belgian registration and papers.
