Just under 65,000 kilometers on the odometer—for a Carrera 3.2, known for its rock-solid reliability, that’s less a sign of use than a hint of it. You get in, glance at the odometer, and can’t help but wonder if someone here has interpreted the concept of “driving” very selectively over the decades.
Yet there it stands, immaculate, in Grand Prix white, as if fresh from the brochure—with the pleasant side effect that this is not a printed illusion, but a real automobile. The original factory paint (except for the hood due to stone chips) impressively underscores this impression: no cosmetic exaggerations, no aftermarket embellishments, but exactly the substance one desires, yet so rarely finds these days. Accident-free history goes almost without saying in this context, but is nonetheless worth mentioning—for the sake of completeness and peace of mind.
Inside, you’re greeted by the coveted partial leather pinstripe interior—a combination so typical of the ’80s that you almost expect to find a cassette with matching music lying around somewhere. Everything looks surprisingly fresh, almost unused, as if the owners had agreed over the years to admire it rather than sit in it. The air conditioning is on board and ready for use—a detail that is certainly appreciated in this class of preservation.
Technically, this coupé belongs to the most appealing version of the series up to 1986: the 915 transmission in its final evolutionary stage is used here with separate oil cooling. This demonstrates that Porsche put the experience gained toward the end of the production run to good use. The gear shifts feel precise, the mechanics harmonious—as if the transmission’s last quirks had been gently but firmly ironed out.
The factory-fitted front and rear spoilers blend seamlessly into the overall look and give the car that sporty stance that a 911 doesn’t need to explain. The whole package is complemented by the coveted 16-inch Fuchs forged wheels, which not only look great but are, in a sense, a must-have.
Before delivery, this coupe will undergo a complete inspection and be fitted with new tires. Not out of necessity, but out of conviction—because a vehicle in this condition should not greet its next owner with unresolved issues, but with a sense of immediate trust.
What stands here is no ordinary Carrera 3.2, but an exceptionally well-preserved, virtually untouched example that has weathered the passage of time with astonishing grace. A car that impresses less through its stories than through the absence of them—and for that very reason has all the more to tell as soon as you turn the key
For the sake of completeness: we are handing over the Porsche with a full inspection, including the replacement of all fluids (including the air conditioning system), all filters, new tires, and, of course, a new general inspection and emissions test. This work will be carried out at our facility after the purchase.
With our best regards
