The Black paint work has been well preserved and is complemented by the Gold “Carrera” side script. Inside, the cabin presents beautifully with a leather-wrapped VDM steering wheel, original dash, VDO gauges, working air conditioning, and a Kenwood AM/FM stereo and Blaupunkt speakers. Refinished 6” & 7” Fuch alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires (date coded 2024). The undercarriage is solid, rust-free, and well preserved with a suspension detail.
According to service records, the Carrera was sold to the second owner in San Clemente, California, on May 27, 1980, with documented history dating back to the first owner. Just prior to the purchase, the 2.7L flat-six engine was rebuilt by HG Bieker of Burbank, California, at 79,111 miles. The Carrera was then regularly maintained by well-known Porsche specialists, including Andial, Autobahn West, and Bill Brewster Automotive, through the 1980s to the early 2000s.
After a period of light use and eventual long-term storage, this Carrera was acquired in 2025 by European Collectibles, who performed a comprehensive recommissioning, including:
• Undercarriage detail with dry ice • Complete brake service including: new pads and rotors on all four corners • Brake fluid flush • Tuning of CIS fuel injection system • New throttle pedal bushings • Serviced the air conditioning system • New Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires
Mechanically, this 911 is in excellent condition, with a 2.7L flat-six engine delivering 175 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm, paired to a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual transmission (Type 915) and four-wheel disc braking system. Complete with a California pink slip from the second owner, tool kit, date-coded spare wheel, jack, tire compressor, and 45 years of service documentation. The U.S. spec 1974 Carrera is a significant and appreciating collectible within the air-cooled Porsche world. With its low production, timeless styling, and documented California history, this 911 presents a rare opportunity to acquire an early G-series icon.
