We consider the last-mentioned option to be particularly important: the additional parts upholstered in Race Tex, especially the door sills, greatly enhance the car’s exclusivity. Last but not least, the car was also equipped with the highly coveted Porsche roof rack with auxiliary headlights, as well as accessories: two fuel and water canisters, two sand plates, and a shovel are also part of the package.

This Dakar Porsche served diligently during the market launch in Italy. After its work was done, the special 911 moved to a large sports car collection in Milan, where it was occasionally driven and additionally equipped with a very rare set of inlays by Justin Placek, which incorporate the colors of the Roughroad design and reflect them in the interior. In total, only 25 sets by Justin Placek in this design were produced specifically for 911 Dakar owners.
