The vehicle in detail

It’s an easy classic to drive and it looks superb.

At some point, early in its existence, the favoured change from the Sportomatic (clutchless manual transmission) was made, and this 911 features a 901 style 5 speed dog-leg manual ‘box.

The original type 901/7 2.0 litre motor benefits from a complete rebuild some 11,500 miles ago by Cheshire Porsche specialists Sports and Classic, and included new pistons and barrels, camshafts, bearings and oil pump (documented by digital photographs supplied on a memory stick), at a cost of over £10,000.

A further £18,000 was spent approximately 5,000 miles ago on a bare metal repaint, reassembled with new seals etc.

The most recent owner enjoyed a couple of classic hill climbs with the car, and modifications including the installation of a Safety Devices full roll cage, strut brace and fire extinguisher were carried out here at Williams Crawford. Whilst some of the changes have been returned to original, these particular items remain providing an option for future owners to partake in similar classic events.

We would describe it as a Condition Grade 3; overall, this is a well sorted early 911, ready to use and enjoy immediately, or take on a journey to the next level.
