History

It was sold new in Atlanta on October 30, 1972, where it had a happy life as a member of the “R-gruppe” and was imported to Spain in the late 1990s from the United States. It was registered as a historical vehicle in Spain in 2003. Its owner was a well known gentleman driver who was at that time the president of the Porsche Spain Club. The car has an FIA passport and was used in club outings, gentlemen drivers series across Europe, etc, several photos of the sports participations and the car’s record are included.

The original 2.4T engine No. 613 1230 had a cracked block breakdown and was replaced by a 2.4E block from the same year, which was also rebuilt with “S” plus specifications by a specialised mechanic “Carrera6” former Porsche Iberica officer.

The car retains its original MFI injection and its 915 five speed manual gearbox.

There are maintenance and repair invoices for about €50,000 from 2000 to 2021. After a few years of competition enjoyment, the car has been rebuilt during 2021 and 2022 seasons in Porsche specialised workshops. The current owner (ME) has a small collection of Porsche RS and wanted to make an evocation of a Carrera 2.7 RS Touring with all the luxury of details.

There are invoices for another €50,000 of the restoration work from 2021 to 2023. In total there are more than €100,000 in invoices for all the work done.

Mechanics

After the restoration it has been set up by a prestigious specialist Baltasar ex-official Porsche technicians and tested.

Several modifications:

-Brakes type 917/930Turbo

-Self-locking differential LSD

– suspensions Öhlins classic

-Stabilising bars.

– Fuchs rims 6 and 7 wide.

-Oil radiator

-Sports exhaust system

-Quickshift system

-Pirelli N rated tyres

-Long etc. of upgrades.

Bodywork

The body was disassembled, confirming that it had not had any accident or rust, and straight. There are photos of the whole process. The car, which was repainted orange for a few racing years, but during the restoration was returned to its original “sepiabraun” colour. The front hood is made of aluminum and the duck tail and front spoiler are made of fibreglass. It preserves its factory original wings, roof and doors.

Original steel engine lid in sepiabraun also comes with the car just in case the new owner likes another look.

Interior

The interior has Sports seats idealsitz kind in leatherette with Pepita inserts, Repa roll-up belts, Momo prototype steering wheel, Becker Mexico radio, etc. The upholstery, door cards, panels, glove compartments, carpet, etc. have been restored. The car does not lack detail.

Documentation

The mileage is in miles, it has recently exceeded 99,999 miles during restoration. Now it marks approximately 00,250 miles. Approximately 500 miles have been run in since the restoration at Porsche club outings.

The car has not seen track use after restoration.

The car has Spanish historical documentation up to date.

There is a big history file, a pile of invoices, documents, Fia passport, brochures, catalogue, etc.

The car has its owner’s manual, maintenance record book, technical specifications book, three sets of keys, etc.

Toolkit comes with a Porsche cloth, a vintage Heuer chronograph, specific jack tool, etc.

Located in Madrid (Spain) 15′ from the airport. Transport possible at the expense of the buyer.
