In 1970, Porsche increased the capacity of the successful 911 range to 2165cc. Specific to the S model was a re-profiled camshaft, larger valves, better porting, higher compression and larger jets for the Weber carburetors.
The S version was now producing 180bhp and the model was well underway in establishing Porsche as a world leader in the production of sports cars and motorsport. From club racers to World Championships the 911 would become an integral part.
