The so-called “Steve McQueen Targa” is by far the coolest and best F-model that we have seen in a long time. Visually, the combination of the exterior color black uni and the black leather seats in this very late vehicle from 1973 is simply casual and a timeless contrast to all the bright colors of the 60s and 70s.
"Better than new" is the grade 1 for Classic Data and this attribute is probably the best. Because, according to all information, this vehicle has a mileage of only 73,000 kilometers and was completely in its original condition before the careful restoration and without any recognizable accident damage and without any necessary welding work. In this color combination this was also a special rarity and prompted the owner to buy the vehicle at the time. So this vehicle could be secured and has not been offered on the market since then.
The last and most powerful engine was the basis for the legendary 911 2.7 Carrera RS and still promises pure driving pleasure with its 190 hp and low weight.
According to the Porsche specialist and the maintenance company, the car was in its original condition before the restoration and could be returned to its delivery state without any welding or body work. The work was carried out with original parts with the claim "better than new". Great care was taken to preserve the originality and to leave the patina where it fit. The interior, which is almost completely lined with genuine leather, including the dashboard and parcel shelf, shows the effort of the detailed restoration. Thanks to a special primer, the new paintwork, just like the stainless steel exhaust system and the stainless steel heat exchangers, promises the car a long, rust-free life. The engine and transmission including attachments have been completely overhauled, as has the chassis, brake system and rims. All chrome parts were renewed or revised like the rubbers or piping. The Targa roof closes like on the first day. A second – right – outside mirror is currently installed. This model was originally delivered with only one exterior mirror.
The low mileage of only 73000 km is understandable through the checkbook and the change of owner. This is one of the rare examples that a few vehicles in their original condition have managed to survive the time unscathed due to the special care. With the right amount of restoration and careful revival of history and traces, a very authentic specimen was created.
Birth certificate and the equipment and delivery confirmation are still available, as are the documents of the previous owner.

It is really special that we have found this top model of the F model series in this condition and this color combination. Two-door roadster. Doors hinged at the front. The body looks very good on the outside without any noticeable damage or abnormalities. The doors and hoods have a very good fit (gap dimensions). The bumpers fit well, are not deformed and do not protrude. The body has no bumps, dents or waves. There was no evidence of previous damage. As far as can be seen, the body is accident-free. A measurement of the thickness of the lacquer did not reveal any spatulas. There is no rust or rust.
paint
The paint gloss is good. There are hardly any visible paint defects.
The thickness of the lacquer layer is largely within the usual range of painting at the factory level.

Chrome, as well as the trim and panels are without defects.
