After completion, an extensive expert report was prepared, which confirmed the grade 2 and the market value of € 85,500 for the – actually well-behaved – 911 2.7 Coupé. Also in 2015, after restoration and rebuilding, the underbody and chassis components painted in the vehicle color were sealed with Dynol. In addition, the cavities received a dynol seal. Accordingly, the vehicle still presents itself from its best side today. In terms of performance, its engine spreads very clearly upwards. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a reason for this. But from experience with many similar models, convey our driving impression.
That's exactly how we have to stick to what we see now, here and now and describe the current situation.
It is definitely not a collector's vehicle! Rather, we are dealing here with one of the few remaining Porsche 911s that can be used without regret, because a stone chip or a dent on such a vehicle does not lead to cardiac arrest. He is in excellent health and does everything a Porsche should be able to do: accelerate well, brake well, lie well and above all sound good, smell like a Porsche and feel like a Porsche when driving.
We already discussed the engine.
Its chocolate side is undoubtedly its chassis, the tuning of which worked very well on this G model of the first series. With a weight of just over 1100 kg and the Bilstein dampers, it is a corner robber in a class of its own, and let's be honest – isn't that what makes Porsche special? Who wants to race at over 200 km/h in an almost 50-year-old car over mostly crowded motorways these days? The Polos and Yaris of this world are now better at that… maybe even better at cornering. Objectively considered. But do it in an old, air-cooled Porsche. And listen carefully as the engine behind you inhales and exhales, taking in additional air for cooling, and it sounds… it may be subjective, no doubt, but all this perception in an old Porsche makes even stones cry .
This Porsche wants to be understood in this way and no other way. As a 48-year-old Porsche 911, prepared for all occasions, ready and waiting, who is not above anything. Not to roll it out of the garage every week to be polished, but to really give it the spurs after a proper warm-up phase.
There are sports cars that can take it, even want it! Most of them come from Zuffenhausen.
But pay attention….there are fewer and fewer who are suitable for this.
That's one of those.
